SIGN Istanbul launches the inaugural ‘Visitor's Council’

In a major new initiative, Istanbul Fair Organisation (IFO) the organiser of the annual SIGN Istanbul trade exhibition, has announced the launch of a dedicated national advisory Council. Comprised of leading industry professionals from across Turkey’s diverse sign making and advertising industry, the Council’s primary role will be to advise IFO through direct feedback, on how it can develop the show to further increase its effectiveness from the buyer’s perspective e.g. reflect industry innovation and trends, provide a forum for networking and ideas exchange and to discuss the challenges of the day.

Recognising the fundamental importance of these trade visitors to the future success and relevance of SIGN Istanbul, IFO’s Managing Director, Mr. Zekeriya Aytemur said, “Through the on-site questionnaires we have canvassed the opinions of these industry professionals during and after each SIGN Istanbul fair. This feedback has been vital in ensuring this event is the region’s most important meeting point for buyers and sellers of sign making, digital printing and outdoor advertising products.” Mr. Aytemur went onto say “Given the rapid pace of change in the market, the advisory Council will provide a convenient vehicle for more detailed and regular contact with the Turkish buyer community not just in Istanbul, but nationwide. This will enable SIGN Istanbul to reflect more accurately their needs and in turn make the event even more effective for our exhibitors.”

IFO is already in close communication with the Council’s members to discuss new initiatives and activities to be implemented for SIGN Istanbul 2013. Under the theme “Stronger by Producing”, the SIGN Istanbul team will be conducting a series of regional meetings in Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa, Izmir, Antalya, Konya, Eskisehir and Adana. Commenting on the role of these meetings, Mr. Aytemur said, “Commercial advertising and promotional product producers, many of whom are highly specialized and have successfully grown their businesses over the years, will exchange opinions and ideas which can be developed to help the country’s producers better promote themselves and boost their competitiveness.”

These regional meetings will culminate in the first formal national meeting of the Council which will take place during SIGN Istanbul 2013 and as such represents a major sales opportunity for this year’s exhibitors.
