SIGN Istanbul 2012 sets new records!

Over 20% year-on-year growth in size, over 400 exhibiting companies from 30 countries and more domestic and international trade visitors than ever before.

Taking place for the 14th time, SIGN Istanbul 2012 once again proved that it is the
largest and most important trade fair sign making and outdoor advertising sector in Turkey and the region. Taking place on from 6-9 December, SIGN Istanbul 2012 broke all previous records in terms of square metres covered, the number of exhibiting companies and professional trade visitors attending.

Some 400 companies representing the very best in sign making and outdoor advertising technologies and materials from 30 countries, welcomed 21,579 professional visitors from 61 countries throughout 4 hectic days of business activity. With nearly 3,000 visitors coming from outside of Turkey and from as far afield as the Americas, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Eurasisa, SIGN Istanbul 2012 was a truly international meeting place.

Commenting on this record achievement, Selahattin Durak, Chairman of the organiser IFO Fairs, said "The success of this year's event highlights the growth in demand from sign makers, printers and outdoor advertising suppliers, for the latest technologies and materials not just in Turkey but across the region". Durak went onto say; "Our exhibitors were delighted with the high number of professional visitors attending and the sales opportunities this generated and as a result many have already reserved their space for next year's SIGN Istanbul."

Picking up on the particularly diverse level of international visitor attendance, Mr. Zekeriya Aytemur, Assistant GM at IFO said, "A common theme throughout our survey of foreign visitors was they do not feel the need to visit the other fairs in
this industry in Turkey, the region or indeed Europe." Aytemur identified the pleasing number of trade visitors from markets such as Albania, Iraq, Iran and Greece to name just a few. He went onto say, "SIGN Istanbul is the first choice event not just for the Turkish sign making, printing and outdoor advertising professional, it is the first choice
for professional buyers and specifiers across the region which delivers new sales opportunities to our exhibitors in these exciting new markets."

Aytemur believes that this year's success is no one-off as it is based on the close relationship built up by the IFO team over 14 years with the industry it serves. He said "This deep knowledge of the sector enables us to develop SIGN Istanbul each year to accurately meet the needs of both buyers and suppliers and we already have a number of exciting new initiatives being planned for 2013."

SIGN Istanbul will be held for the 15th time from 28 November - 1 December 2013 at Istanbul's premier exhibition venue, Tuyap Congress and Exhibition Centre.q
